Atom Awards Finalists

'The Weather', a music video produced and directed by Daybreak Films for the band Kempsey has been selected as a finalist for Best Music Video in this year's ATOM Awards. The ceremony will be held on the night of Friday 22 October at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. Thanks and congrats to the band and all the folks who helped us out over the several nights of shooting.

Old Fitzroy

We've recently completed production on a new music video for Dan Sultan's song 'Old Fitzroy'. The filmclip, shot in and around Fitzroy, our stomping ground, was a great opportunity to film the places, people and faces we know and love. Dan and his band are in the midst of massive Australian tour but should be releasing the music video in the coming weeks. We'll be sure to post a link when they do. The Weather

We've recently finished shooting a clip for Canberra band 'Kempsey'. Shot on the streets of Canberra over three crazed nights we used two Canon 5Ds and a couple of 50mm 1.4 lenses to get some pretty damned fine looking stuff. We'll be sure to post a link to the clip as soon as the band release it alongside their forthcoming EP. You can hear more of them here.

The Time, The Place released on DVD

Liberation Records has released the Daybreak Films produced concert film The Time, The Place. Directed by Rhys Graham & Natasha Gadd and featuring Motor Ace, the hugely popular but now defunct band of frequent Daybreak collaborator Patrick Robertson, the film captures the intensity of the band's final ever performance on a sweltering summer night.
