The Weather

We've recently finished shooting a clip for Canberra band 'Kempsey'. Shot on the streets of Canberra over three crazed nights we used two Canon 5Ds and a couple of 50mm 1.4 lenses to get some pretty damned fine looking stuff. We'll be sure to post a link to the clip as soon as the band release it alongside their forthcoming EP. You can hear more of them here.

The Time, The Place released on DVD

Liberation Records has released the Daybreak Films produced concert film The Time, The Place. Directed by Rhys Graham & Natasha Gadd and featuring Motor Ace, the hugely popular but now defunct band of frequent Daybreak collaborator Patrick Robertson, the film captures the intensity of the band's final ever performance on a sweltering summer night.

Daybreak Films was recently approached to film a music video for artist Emma Donovan. A Gumbayngirr woman from Northern NSW, Emma's soulful song 'Changes' has, we hope, been captured in this clip filmed on and around the Gumbayngirr lands and community near Nambucca Heads.

Backstage, a 45 minute documentary directed by friend and colleague Pierre Toussaint with editing and post production by Rhys Graham and Daybreak Films, will be screening this month on Foxtel. The documentary, shot by frequent Daybreak collaborator Stefan Duscio and with an original score by Flynn Wheeler, follows Australian designer Alice McCall as she prepares to show her collection at New York Fashion week.
