Daybreak Films was commissioned by Museum Victoria to create a large scale three screen moving image installation for the new permanent exhibition The Melbourne Story, launching in Melbourne on 19th March, 2008. Weaving a poetic and engaging impression of contemporary Melbourne from 1980 to the present the installation traverses the social, political, creative and cultural changes that we’ve experienced in the city over the past several decades.

New Studio

Daybreak Films, after 12 hectic months of working on projects between Arnhem Land, Broome, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Tokyo, is now resettled in Melbourne in a new studio. We can be found at Studio 6, 236-248 Brunswick St, Fitzroy, Melbourne.

Words from the City nominated for 5 AFI Awards

Words from the City has been nominated for Best Documentary in the 2007 AFI Awards[]! In addition, the film has received nominations for Best Directing in a Documentary, Best Cinematography in a Documentary - Rhys Graham & Natasha Gadd, Best Editing in a Documentary - Paul Williams and Best Sound in a Documentary - Emma Bortignon.
