National Portrait Gallery

Single Channel Installation, 5 mins, 2008

Commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery, the My Favourite Australian exhibition combined the popular votes of the Australian public for their 30 favourite Australians with a number of commissioned artists and filmmakers. For the exhibition, Daybreak Films was invited to create portraits of famed football player and socceroo Johnny Warren and an 'unsung hero', primary school teacher Rosa Guglielmino.

The exhibition, also featuring artists Soda_Jerk, Kimberly West, Bruce Petty, Lynette Wallworth, Merilyn Fairskye, and Craig Walsh was display in the National Portrait Gallery from 4 December 2008 - 1 March 2009.

After the conclusion of the exhibition, the NPG acquired the Johnny Warren installation for permanent display in the gallery, where is it still exhibited as a single screen video installation.
