For this original commission by Malthouse Theatre and The Studio at Sydney
Opera House, Meow Meow - one of our great stage identities at the peak of her
powers - unleashes her siren song in a full-length theatre work accompanied by
an electric five piece band and cinematic accompaniment created by Daybreak
Films.
Daybreak has worked with Meow Meow’s extraordinary personal archive
to create an evocative dreamscape of burnt neon, faded chanteuses, private
harems and a civilization on the point of collapse that were projected onto a circular screen in the centre of the stage.
